On the 3rd of March we(Utnsilise) took part in the Mini Company competition. The night before we made a checklist of all the different things we needed to make our stand look the best it could. We were all nervous the next morning practising answers to questions the judges may ask. We all arrived at 09.45 and rushed in to get set up. We had to set up a presentation board where we stuck our home made posters. We made our table kitchen themed so it would fit in with the "Spoover" as it is a kitchen Utensil. When we had finished we were all very happy with how it looked. We had about a 4o minute wait until a judge came around to us. She asked us questions about the product itself but also other questions like What skills have you learnt whilst participating in the competition? Do you think working in a group is good? what qualities must an entrepreneur have?. She picked people from the group and asked them the questions. Overall we thought the interview went ok. We didn't answer all the questions as best we hoped but we did ok.
For the rest of the day we talked to other mini companies and walked around finding out about the other companies in the competition. After all the interviews the judges went and discussed all the companies who to put on the shortlist. The shortlist is a list of all the companies who had a chance of getting into the final. We waited nervously as the judges deliberated. Time then came when the head judge called out the names of the companies on the shortlist. We luckily were called out. We were all delighted to be in the chance of getting to the final.
Fingers crossed that we make it to the final which is in a week. :)
